Orange Housing Authority Receives $7.4 Million Dollars in Tax Credits Provided by the New Jersey Housing Mortgage Financing Agency (NJHMFA)

Orange, New Jersey – On Thursday, August 1, 2013, the Orange Housing Authority was awarded tax credits from the New Jersey Housing Mortgage Financing Agency (NJHMFA). The tax credits will be used for Dr. Walter G. Alexander Village Phase III, a $12 million dollar redevelopment. The development will be split, with 16 three (3) story townhouse units being constructed on the corners of Parrow Street and Oakwood Avenue, and a four (4) story 26 unit residential building on Wilson Place. This build will include a 4000 square foot community center and a host of green features.

Executive Director, Dr. Walter D. McNeil Jr. said, “The Tax Credits will enable the Orange Housing Development Corporation to continue to improve the local housing community and allow us to complete our vision for a better City of Orange.”
