The Orange Housing Authority

Welcome to the City of Orange Housing Authority. Quality housing is the heart of strong communities. OHA works to transform the City of Orange by providing safe, livable and affordable housing that promotes the development of our communities. At the Orange Housing Authority, our participants are not statistics, they are our neighbors. We know our community and we tailor our programs to better serve our participant’s needs. Whether it is a search for housing, assistance with foreclosure, enforcement of building codes, or neighborhood development, the Orange Housing Authority stands ready to offer its services to our participants.

A renaissance is underway in the City of Orange. In its midst, the Orange Housing Authority is making progressive moves to enhance its programs and meet the needs of its 21st Century residents.

Executive Director’s Message

y-6197The Orange Housing Authority has made tremendous progress in improving its programming, and enhancing the quality of living for families living in the housing properties that fall under the jurisdiction of the housing authority. We continue to strive in providing excellence in all areas: programming, education, and housing.

Recently, demolition begun on 85 Wilson Place. The community room, which was once a place for residents living in the Walter G. Alexander Projects gathered for events and programming is no longer in existence, making room for new redevelopment.

Demolition will continue, as redevelopment plans for Oakwood Avenue, Parrow Street, and North Parrow Street are underway. We are very excited about the progress we are making in the city of Orange and we invite you to take a look at our redevelopment plans and see images of our demolition activity by visiting our “Projects” section of this website.
